Team India’s former opener Virender Sehwag is celebrating his 39th birthday today. He has made  many records playing for India. Virender Sehwag is one of those players who have many nicknames inside and out of the ground.  Fans lovingly call him Veeru Paji.He is also known as the Nawab of Nazafgarh, Sultan of Multan and Zen Master of Modern Cricket. Most noteworthy, Sehwag is the only Indian who won the Wisden Leading Cricketer of the Year award in 2009.

Today we are going to tell you about five such records of this explosive batsman. These are  the precious records of cricket itself. In which some records have been made by Sehwag for the first time. Records of Virender Sehwag

1. Virender Sehwag is the only Indian batsman to have scored a triple century two or more times. And that too against the top of the world’s best aggressive and best bowling. Sehwag scored a scintillating 319 runs against Pakistan in the year 2004 in Multan Cricket Stadium. And against South Africa in the year 2008 in Chennai in the MA Chidambaram Stadium. Here is a point to note that Sehwag is the first Indian batsman to score a triple century in the history of Test cricket. At the same time, after hitting a century in Pakistan, he was also given the surname of ‘Sultan of Multan’.

2. Virender Sehwag was the only batsman in the world to score a double hundred in ODIs and a Test triple century. He became the first cricketer to make this record. However, after Virender Sehwag, West Indian Chris Gayle has done the same stuff. He has also made two triple centuries in Test and a double hundred in ODIs.

3. Here is another record of Virender Sehwag that has not yet broken any player in the world. That record is the record of making 300 runs in 278 balls in international Test. That is the highest strike rate to score a triple century is  only by Virender Sehwag.

4. Virender Sehwag has scored double centuries in 7 times. He got the same 6 times in  Tests and 1 time in ODIs. Most noteworthy that Sehwag, who has scored 6 times more than 200 is the only batsman of India to do so. At the same time he has done so only  against Pakistan three times.

5. Virender Sehwag has scored 16859 runs in 251 ODIs and 104 Test matches. He has got 23 Test and 15 ODI centuries in his name.
