New Delhi : Government has waved the penalty fees for late filling of GST returns in August-September Month.
Finance Minister Mr. Arun Jaitley informed this news through his tweet on Twitter. Mr. Jaitley informs through his tweet that ” To facilitate taxpayers, late fee on filling of GSTR-3B for August and September has been waived. Late fee paid will be credited back to taxpayer ledger.
Government has already given the relaxation in late fees for late GST filling for July month. Lot off vendors have demanded for the relaxation in penalty for the late filling of GSTR-3B. In fact penalty was collected even after the GST-3B was submitted by the taxpayers. And the businessman who didn’t pay the penalty have to pay according to 200 rupees per day as late fees. That’s Why Finance Minister announced this relaxation.
According to GST law, In the case of late filling of GST filling and late submission of tax payment then that person have to pay 100 rupees per day on central GST and similar penalty amount on the state’s GST.
How much Returns filled in three months :-
According to the GST network, 55.87 lakh GSTR-3B returns were filed for July, 51.37 lakh for August and over 42 lakh for September. As per the data of the GST lot off the vendors and businessman filled the GST returns after the deadline of the last date. While only 33.98 lakh July returns were filed till the due date, the number has now gone up to 55.87 lakh.
Similarly for August, 28.46 lakh returns were filed till the last date, but the figure went up to 51.37 lakh later. for September, while 39.4 lakh returns were filed by the due date, the number is rising and was over 42 lakh till October 23.
GST started from 1st July 2017 :-
GST started regulating in our country from 1st July 2017. September is the third month in which companies have to pay the GSTR-3B returns. In which they have to give the complete details of the selling of their business, On which basis they will get the refund.
