India V/S Australia T20 Series 2017 Team announced by BCCI
After defeating Australia in the ODI series 4-1, Indian selectors have once again announced the team under the leadership of Virat Kohli. The selectors announced the team via twitter handle of BCCI late night at 11:30.
While selecting Indian team against the strong team like Australia, Indian selectors kept the idiom of Old Is Gold in full consideration. And the selectors did not have done any experiment with the team, Dinesh Karthik and Ashish Nehra were going out of the team for a long time. They have made a comeback in the team.
Yuvraj and Raina ignored again
The selectors have once again ignored the 2011 World Cup hero Yuvraj Singh and T-20 specialist Suresh Raina, in the team selection against Australia. There has been the possibility of these two players to return to the Indian team for the Twenty20 series against Australia. But nothing like the same has happened, and Raina’s performance in the Dulip Trophy once again created a barrier for him in the team selection. At the same time, the selectors again dropped Yuvraj Singh, because recently he did not play any home tournaments nor did he performed well in the previous matches.
Umesh and Shami Dropped
Umesh and Shami were excluded from the first three matches of the ODI series. This was because of Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jaspreet Bumrah’s spectacular performances in the ODI series against Australia. But after winning the series, Indian captain Virat Kohli tried to strengthen the bench and Shami, Umesh and Akshar Patel was included in the playing eleven. But Shami and Umesh Yadav disappointed India and Indian captain, due to which the Indian team lost their fourth ODI. And the dream of winning constantly 10 ODI’s got disrupted. But once again Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jaspreet Bumrah have returned in the final match and the team had won the match by a big margin. Akshar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav and Manish Pandey have also been named in the team for T-20 matches.
Nehra’s Comeback After February 2017
Ashish Nehra was out of the Indian team for a long time. Nehra had played his last international T20 match against England in February 2017. After which Nehra could only play 6 matches in IPL 10. Nehra has took 8 wickets in the 6 matches of IPL 10 playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad captained by David Warner.
Dinesh Karthik Impressed in Dulip Trophy
Dinesh Karthik had played his last match against the West Indies. His performance was fair, after which he was dropped from the ODIs, Tests and T-20 series against Sri Lanka. And thereafter against Australia his name was not in the Indian team for the 5 ODI series. But Karthik did not give up, and in the Dulip Trophy, he performed well. The selectors got impressed with his performance. Consequently, he joined the Indian team for the Twenty20 series against Australia.
